Court Rules
The Basics
- Padel is always played in doubles — 2 players per team.
- Matches are played as best of 3 sets. Each set is first to 6 games with a tiebreak at 6–6.
- Scoring follows standard tennis rules: 15, 30, 40, game. Deuce and advantage apply.
- Service alternates between teams every game.
Service Rules
- The serve must be hit underarm, below waist height.
- The ball must bounce once in the service box before the receiver returns it.
- The serve must land in the diagonally opposite service box.
- Two serve attempts allowed — a double fault loses the point.
- If the serve hits the net and lands in the correct box, it is a let (replay).
During Play
- The ball may bounce off the glass walls and metal fencing — it is still in play.
- Players may use the walls to play the ball before it bounces a second time on the ground.
- The ball must bounce once on your side before hitting a wall. A ball that bounces twice is out.
- Hitting the ball directly into the opponent's glass wall (without bouncing on their floor first) is a fault.
- If the ball exits through an opening in the fence, it is out.
Court Conduct
- Respect your opponents and refrain from unsportsmanlike behaviour.
- Proper padel footwear must be worn at all times on court.
- Food and drinks (except water) are not permitted on court.
- Players are responsible for calling balls on their side of the net.
- Disputes should be resolved calmly — repeated misconduct may result in disqualification.
